About Julie Liger

Julie Liger was born in 1982. She lives and works in Marseille and Paris. Born and raised in a typical Mediterranean environment, she is obsessed with light and colors. She started photography when she was a young teenager.

Graduated from Aix- Marseille University in Arts, she is also graduated in Fine Arts in Marseille, and in Photography from the Gobelins School, Paris. She is currently a freelance photographer and also provide her different competences to fashion industry.

Her work gravitates between the worlds of Art and Fashion. For THE KINSKY, she offers a monthly event where she explores the physical environment of a person, in the way of a series. Each element of his context becomes a symbol of his personal ecosystem. The intimate nature of her approach given by the proximity of her series with picture-stories is tempered by her obsession with color and light. Deeply Mediterranean, Julie combines tradition and freshness in her subjects as in her method combining analog and digital work. She distills the South landscapes, southern light, obsolete architectures and one-to-one portraits in intense shots where violence seems latent as pending. A kind of narrative appears, but an open one, which everyone is invited to invent.
