Andrea Cammarosano comes with another interesting way to introduce his new collection.
In his own words: ” This is a political collection, About the responsibility of us, the designers,
In the world of objects, As objects are responsible For the world of people. Every garment is an object, And every object is also a subject. Regardless of the designer, the tailor, The distributor, the wearer, It lives a life of its own. Time and wear, dust and debris, Heat and cold will try it. But to these the garment opposes
A strength of its own – its persistence. This is the mark of its individuality, And its individuality can lead us to our own. In this collection, by acting violently on the Cut, material and texture of the garments, I acknowledge their materiality; By amputating them, I recognize Their fraglity; and by encasing them In layers of printed foam, I protect them Like the layers of time under which They are forgotten, preserved, and then reborn.”
” It is us who built these palaces and cities, here in Spain and in America and everywhere. We can build others to take. Their place, and better ones. We are not in the least Afraid of ruins We are going to inherit The earth The bourgeoisie might blast And ruin its own world Before it leaves the stage Of history We carry a new world here, In our hearts And that world is growing In this minute….”
