‘Hello, My Name is Paul Smith’ goes to Fashion Museum Hasselt (MMH) on 30 January 2015. This exhibition attracted more than 113,000 visitors to the Design Museum in London and broke many local records. At the moment MMH is the only location on the European mainland where this show will appear. Next stop is Singapore and Tokyo.
“This exhibition offers a unique glimpse into the fascinating world of one of the greatest British fashion designers of all time, and is a real must for fashion and design enthusiasts. The “Hello, My name is Paul Smith’ (30.01.2015 – 07.06.2015) show here will also be substantially larger than in London and at our request will contain more fashion in particular. Paul Smith himself is very involved with the project and is making the selection of best looks for us personally. The Spring of 2015 is definitely something to look forward to with great anticipation,” says Kenneth Ramaekers.
“After the success of the previous exhibitions, 2015 again promises to be a great year for the Fashion Museum and for the cultural tourism on offer in Hasselt. This exhibition of designs by and related to Paul Smith is in itself already a tremendous touristic attraction for our city. Additionally, there are many links to be made between this event and Hasselt as a fashion and shopping hub. Hasselt is widely known for its unique shopping boutiques and original range of shopping opportunities. Designs by Paul Smith, too, are appearing more and more in the streets and are being sold in various stores such as La Bottega, Bush Bazar, BOND and Clinic. An exhibition that is completely in tune with everything our city, as Capital of Taste, stands for and that fits seamlessly into our fashion range, cannot fail to be a great success,” announces Karolien Mondelaers, Hasselt Alderwoman of Culture.
